Jamieson's Irish House & Grill

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

Hi Chris, Just wanted to thank you again for the great hospitality and exceptional food enjoyed by all who attended our regional Visual Arts NS holiday dinner this evening. I received nothing but great comments about the food and service and many commented that this was their first visit to Jamieson's.

I have to admit a little pride in showing off our "neighbourhood pub." We couldn't have asked for a better setting or more welcoming hosts.

Thanks again to all our servers, your kitchen staff and all others who made our evening such a pleasure. See you again,

Hi Chris: My mum and I, along with our friend from Northern Ireland, were at your establishment last night, the service was great, and the food was terrific.

I really enjoyed my cajun chicken sandwich and the warm Belgian chocolate cake. All of us enjoyed our evening very much.

Chris, Being recently posted to Halifax it was the first time I had to enjoy your facility (which came highly recommended from many of the peers I talked with I might add) ... everyone had a spectacular time yesterday and spoke highly of the quality of your food after they left ...

I plan to make another trip there with my wife at some point in the future now that I have experienced it. Thanks for making our function a success ... The great service and hospitality were very much appreciated.

Chris & Staff,

I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude towards the Jamieson`s staff. In particular, Mike and Christy. Your restaurant was the setting for my boyfriends surprise anniversary dinner last night, October 15th, 2008. Although, I was brought there under false pretenses, your staff had created a beautiful romantic dinner for two on the center stage.

The servers surrounded the area with candles and rose petals, and provided the perfect atmosphere for what was to come. Mike, the chef prepared an amazing feast for this special occasion. Not only was the food spectacular, the presentation of the meals were marked by flawless craftsmanship. Christy, our server was especially attentive, and made sure that we were well taken care of.

As the evening was nearing the final phase, your staff honored us by providing the privacy necessary for my boyfriend to propose. I accepted, and it was a wonderful evening, that would never have materialized without the incredible skills of your staff.

Thank you for giving us this wonderful memory, that will be with us forever.

A.R. & W.G.

Dining at your restaurant on Friday

Chris, All I can say is WOW.

A colleague of my wifes recommended that we come to your restaurant. We are so used to checking out new spots in the downtown core of Halifax, that I never ever imagined that such a hidden gem would reside in a small strip mall in Cole Harbour.

Kudos to you, my friend on owning such a wonderful restaurant. We had an absolutely amazing meal in a wonderful atmosphere, and the service was second to none. We will most definitely be back!

Hi Chris, myself and 7 friends dropped in for dinner and I have to tell you that the eight of us can't say enough about the meal we had last night. My husband was ecstatic over your selections on tap and all of us loved the décor.

I actually have an anxiety disorder and eating out is very difficult for me, but from the moment we sat in the "living room" to wait for our table I felt comfortable. That was the most important feature of your establishment for me.

I will say though that the food was out of this world. 7 different meals were served and all 8 of us we're happy. As someone who has worked in food service in the past I am aware that that isn't always the case.

I thank you and your gracious wait staff for a delightful evening and we will see you again soon. Deborah L.

Chris, Dave and I were in for supper tonight and had the special... it was Chicken stuffed with spinach, red pepper and goat cheese, topped with a cream pesto sauce. It was Delicious!!! it was fantastic.

Shauna, was our wonderful waitress....I really think that this should be a special you should have again, I really mean it it was one of the best suppers I have had, my husband Dave loves the stuffed chicken and he said it was even a bit better, just because of the amazing tastes and flavours.

Anyways just wanted to let you know that it was a fantastic supper. Great staff too by the way.

I am more an irregular than regular at Jamieson's but when I pull in to the parking lot I pretty much know what it is I am ordering before the car is in park.

If it be any day other than Friday I will be ordering fish and chips and the best they be this side of the harbour - and quite possibly the best in HRM. If one likes fish lightly battered, not hard as a clamshell and heavy as lead weight, then this is the spot. The chips aren’t the all too frequent squishy, uniform-shape supermarket freezer-bag variety either; instead, always a generous portion of the home-cut, home-cooked variety.

The real treat is the Friday lunch special and I be speaking of the Beef & Guinness Stew. Now here's a rich, hearty, wholesome dish to take the chill off a winter’s day, and as Irish a meal as the name of the restaurant that makes it.

When I first tasted the dish I knew I had found a place that I could frequent without reservation, and that Jamieson’s doesn’t take reservations is my only reservation about Jamieson’s. But I suppose this is part of the charm. Part of the Irish way!

My inquiry is concerning the entertainment for the evening of June 5/2004. Is the entertainment a "sing a long" or it strictly entertainment by a visiting entertainer? We would be a party of 8-10 people.

My name is Micheal Mc Burnie and I dine in your establishment on average once every 6 weeks. I enjoy dining out and because I don't get to do it as often as I would like I feel that it should always be an experience.

In the past 3 yrs since I've moved here I've tried a lot of restaurants in Halifax and Dartmouth but since I discovered your establishment I have very little reason to eat anywhere else. Your restaurant not only offers outstanding cuisine, but atmosphere, comfort, consistency, individuality, and most important smiling, professional, courteous employees.

What impresses me the most, aside from the staff, is your Chefs ability to prepare things consistently. I know that if I have pan fried haddock on Saturday evening a month from now I could return and order and it would be prepared the same. I've been in Customer Service for a long time and in fact did my share of bartending and serving.

In my opinion if your employees are happy your clients are happy. I've always believed in giving praise where it's appropriate and this is the purpose of this email. Jessie entertained my party and I , last evening at the bar while we waited for our table and as busy as she was she still maintained re pore with everyone else. Matthew, as soon as he noticed us, came over to offer some quick banter as well. Robert, busy helping in the kitchen took a moment also to say hello. We were then seated and Matthew began his professional manner in making us feel at home.

I guess my whole point to make is that if I can remember the names of your employees, please let that prove to you how valuable they are. I sincerely hope you can share this email not only with the 3 people I have named but to all your employees because you have a team there in place that keeps me returning at least once a month not to mention the # of people I recommend to try your establishment. Don't every be afraid to praise you staff . The power of positive words go a long way.

Please keep up the exceptional job that you and ALL staff are doing as Jamieson's is my choice of restaurants to dine.

Special Thanks Again,,Matthew, Jessie and Rob and Chefs for doing a fine job.

Regards
Micheal McBurnie

Good evening,

The day could not end without a very special thank you to you and your staff more making my husbands' 65th birthday party this evening such a memorable event.

Thank you for having the table available for us. The fact that you gave us personal greeting when we arrived started the evening on a very positive note. The singer was almost "a Stan Rogers clone" from the beginning of the evening to the end. Wonderful!!! (You said he was good and he is....)

Words cannot describe our meals....one of our sons has traveled extensively and his description was that "it doesn't get any better than this." The presentation of our meals was well excellent. Everything we ordered was truly a gourmet delight from the appetizer to the unbelievable chocolate cheese cake.

Your special attention to the sugar free dessert and sparkler for "the birthday cake" was so much appreciated by my husband. Our waiter was generous with his time and offered very courteous
service. We appreciated that very much since the day has been very hectic since early morning. We have eaten at Jamiesons' on many occasions and we certainly intend to continue.

Several people with us this evening, who had never been to your establishment are now planning to visit Jamiesons' to enjoy the atmosphere, service and food at their leisure.

Once again, thank you so very much.

Regards,
Betty
